KBC bags bronze in scrabble as KECOSO games end

Team KBC participated in five different sports disciplines and achieved encouraging performance in this year’s competition, winning bronze in Scrabble, finished 4th in pool and 9th in darts (FILE)

The Curtains for this year’s Kenya Communications Sports games better known as KECOSO  came down Saturday in Eldoret after nine days of exciting competition.

Team KBC participated in five different sports disciplines  and achieved encouraging performance in this year’s competition, winning bronze in Scrabble, finished 4th in pool and 9th in darts.

The team led by team manager David Kariuki  is now looking forward to a better performance in next year’s dition.

In some of the events held today Viola Kibiwot of Communications authority emerged victorious in 5000 metres race clocking 16 minutes and 7.06 seconds and she was followed closely by  Mary Munanu and Gladys Chesire in the second  and third positions respectively.

In the men’s category, Silas Muthuri of Posta took the first position ahead of James Kibet of KPA while John Muritu of CAK was third. Silas Muturi of Posta won 10,000 meters race clocking 29 minutes and 16.5 seconds while Hosea nailel of Posta finished second ahead of Kirui Chesang of Posta.

Fancy Jerotich of KPA emerged Victorious in the women’s 3000 metres  steeplechase beating Virginia Nyambura of CAK to the second spot.

Justus Ngeno of KAA won the men’s 3000 sc after beating Isaack Yego and Elijah Jelimo of Posta to the second and third positions respectively.

In soccer  Posta rangers emerged victorious after beating Kenya Ferry services 2-0 in the final game played at the Kipkeino stadium in Eldoret. The annual event brings together government and private communications institutions in the country.
