TSC to employ over 900 teachers

The TSC has advertised the 968 positions to fill in posts left through natural attrition (FILE)

The Teachers Service Commission will soon employ over 900 primary and secondary school teachers.

The advertisements appearing in today’s (Friday) dailies seek to replace those who have exited the service through natural attrition.

Eligible candidates must be Kenyan citizens, aged below 45 years, and must have original professional and academic certificates.

There are 527 vacancies in primary school and 396 posts available for secondary school teachers.

Candidates applying for the primary school   post must be holders of P1   certificate while those applying for post   primary   schools must be holders of a minimum of diploma education.

Interested candidates must submit their application not later than July 7th.

The Teachers service commission Chairman, Gabriel Lengoibon, has asked all teachers to ensure they are registered with their employer by the end of July 2014 in line with its circular.

Lengoiboni says the commission will be publishing in the Kenya Gazette and the TSC websites annually names of persons who will have been de-registered in line with the TSC Act.

Meanwhile the annual head teachers’ conference in Mombasa ends Friday.

The over 5,000 head teachers attending the meeting have resolved to implement measures that will enhance efficiency and boost performance and transparency in the education sector.
