Barley farmers complain of heavy losses

Barley farmers in Olokurto division of Narok district say they are losing millions of shillings while transporting their produce to market due to poor roads.
The farmers led by Mr. Reuben Ole Kiramba from Entiani location in Olokurto said about 200 barley farmers who used to earn about 160 million shillings a year have had their incomes go down due to failure to successfully deliver their produce to the market at Nakuru.
Mr. Kiramba told the press in Nakuru that the road between Mauche in Nakuru and Olokjurto was inaccessible during the rainy season.
The farmers appealed to the government to prioritise the gravelling of the road to enable farmers to market their products with ease.
