The 2015 10,000m African champion Alice Aprot will only feature in one athletics category this season.
Aprot revealed this after she won the Kenya Prisons cross country championship that was held at Uhuru gardens in Nairobi.
Alice Aprot has now vowed to feature in only one athletics event in the 2018 season. Aprot won the Kenya Prisons women cross country championship after clocking 33mins 30.9 secs.
Celliphine Chepsoi finished in the second position timing 34 mins 9.20 secs while Visiline Chepkesio settled for the third position at a time limit of 34 mins 38.0 secs.
In the men’s cross country race, Cornelius Kagongo from the Coast region emerged victorious timing 29mins 41.0 secs.
Mangata Ndiwa from Western region finished second clocking 29 mins 46.7 secs while Wilfred Kimitei settled for the third position timing 30mins 4.20 secs.
This championship was meant to prepare the Kenya Prisons athletics team for the upcoming national cross country championship that will be held next month.
The championship will be used to select a squad that will represent Kenya in the Africa Cross country championship that will be held in Algeria later this year.
