The National Transport and Safety Authority will conduct a major crackdown on un-roadworthy vehicles beginning Monday.
The authority tasked with keeping the country’s roads safe says the move has been precipitated by increased cases of road carnage that must be tamed.
The announcement came in the wake of reports that 24 lives were lost from road accidents in a span of one week.
During the crackdown, all categories of vehicles; private, government, commercial and PSVs, found to have flouted the traffic rules will face the law in equal measure.
PSV Saccos and companies have also been reminded to play their key role in road safety by ensuring their drivers conform to the set regulations lest their licenses be withdrawn.
