Pwani FM was launched in August 2001. Having been established and tested from inception in early January 2001. Pwani FM channel was established to serve the very peculiar listening need of Coast Listen ship.

Pwani FM has a wide variety of programs in Taarab Music, Congolese Music, Pop, Local Bands, and News and News-update at the top of hour and late night English programs featuring blues.
