A multi agency committee comprising of representative from the ethics and anti corruption office, the criminal investigation department, the national police service commission and the ministry of interior has been constituted to look into the grievances raised following the recent controversial police recruitment drive.

The NPSC chairman Johnstone Kavuludi said the committee will delve into claims of corruption, political interference and ethnicity.

The committee to be chaired by Commissioner Murshid Mohammed is expected to report back to the police service commission within seven days.

The commission has also warned that it will not hesitate to take action against characters implicated in influencing the outcome of the recruitment drive.
