A postmortem on the body of former Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery is currently underway at the Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi.
Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor is overseeing the procedure that seeks to unravel the puzzle of the sudden demise of the former no-nonsense Interior CS whose demise last weekend shocked many Kenyans.
The postmortem is part of the broad investigations the government has launched to establish the cause of Nkaissery’s death.
Several people have been questioned by detectives over the death of the powerful CS.
Meanwhile, calls to stop speculating on the sudden death of the CS continue.
The National Council of People Living with Disability David ole Sankok called on Kenyans to stop speculations regarding the cause of Nkaissery’s death.
Sankok says there is need to give investigators ample time to unravel the mystery surrounding the demise of Nkaissery.
The general collapsed while at home and was rushed to Karen Hospital and, upon further examination, was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Government has formed a funeral committee to work alongside the family of the late Cabinet Secretary.
This Committee is being chaired by Health Cabinet Secretary Dr. Cleopa Mailu.
In a statement, Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua said the terms of reference of the Committee will be to provide all possible assistance to the family.
It will also ensure that the late CS receives an honourable and dignified sendoff befitting his status as a gallant and true patriot.
At the same the family has appointed Saitoti Ole Maika as the family spokesperson for this difficult period.
