Dr. Gachara’s freedom; court to decide
The Nairobi Chief Magistrate will decide Wednesday whether to release former director of the National Aids Control Council, Dr Margaret Gachara on bond.
This is the third time Gachara is applying for bond since her arraignment in court on charges of obtaining 24 million shillings from the council fraudulently.
Tuesday, a medical report from Kenyatta National Hospital said the former director has been suffering from mild depression.
Monday, two reports from two psychiatrists presented to court said Gachara has been suffering from stress.
Her lawyer, Dr John Khaminwa claims the stress caused her to stay indoors and decline to surrender to the court.
However, the state still opposes her release on bail. Gachara who is remanded at Langata Women
