Dubai firm dispatches presidential ballot papers

20,425,860 million ballot papers to be used in the fresh presidential elections next week Thursday are ready. 

Al Ghurair printing company has already dispatched ballot papers for 10 far flunked counties to Dubai international airport ready for transportation Friday to arrive in Kenya on Saturday morning.

Despite a cloud of uncertainty surrounding the fresh presidential poll slated for October 26th, printing of 20,425,860 ballot papers has been completed at the Dubai based Al Ghurair printing firm awaiting transportation to Kenya.

The 10 far flunked counties include Tana river, Marsabit , Wajir, Lamu, Garissa, Isiolo, Samburu, Laikipia and Diaspora.

The second bunch of ballot papers for 20 counties will be transported by Sunday to arrive in Kenya by Monday morning with the last bunch expected on Tuesday.

The ballot papers to be used in the fresh polls are grey in color with the serialization beginning from 30 million to 50 million bearing FPE (fresh presidential elections with security features making it difficult for duplication.

Other documents included in this fresh polls include form 32 A, KIEMS form and PRM checklist. IEBC officers accompanied by various stakeholders overseeing the ballot printing process has expressed its committal to oversee a credible election devoid of malpractices in respect to the watertight security measures in place.

Despite Akombe quitting the electoral body 7 days to the polls, IEBC says such developments are sideshows that will not derail elections.
