Former Frankfurt Marathon Champion to head Hannover Marathon

Former Frankfurt Marathon Champion Gilbert Kirwa of Kenya and Germany’s defending champion Fate Tola will head their respective fields at the Hannover Marathon to be held on the 8th of next month in Germany.

Both are expected to threaten the course records which currently stand at 2 hours, 8 minutes and 32 seconds for the men and 2 hours, 27 minutes and 7 seconds for the women.

Kirwa has a personal best of 2 hours, 6 minutes and 14 seconds while Tola’s best time is 2 hours, 25 minutes and 14 seconds.

Among Kirwa’s rivals will be Cheshari Jacob, who won in Hannover three years ago in 2 hours, 9 minutes and 32 seconds.

The Kenyan has a personal best of 2 hours, 7 minutes and 46 seconds which he ran in Frankfurt in 2013 when he finished fourth.
