Gor Mahia beat Western Stima 2-0 Saturday at Afraha stadium in Nakuru

Defending champions Gor Mahia reclaimed pole position on the Kenyan Premier League table thanks to a 2-0 win over Western Stima today at the Afraha stadium in Nakuru.

After playing to a goalless first half, Eric Ochieng’s free kick was deflected into the net after a mix up in the Stima danger area handing Kogalo their opening goal in the 61st minute.

And 13 minutes later the reigning champions secured maximum points when Timonthy Otieno pounced on a loose ball just outside the box and netted the second for Kogalo. The win, accompanied by Tusker’s 1-0 loss to Sony Sugar, sends Gor Mahia to the top on 34 points, three points above Tusker FC.

Five more matches are on card tomorrow. Bandari host Muhoroni Youth, KCB play Thika United, Top Fry clash with KRA, Sofapaka visit Ulinzi Stars while AFC Leopards square it out with Mathare United.
