Health CS orders investigations into rape allegations at KNH

Health Cabinet Secretary Cleopa Mailu has ordered investigations into the social media reports of rape ordeals at Kenyatta National Hospital.

The CS has further ordered the KNH management and security agents to provide a report on the issue by Monday 22nd January 2018.

The ministry of health said via Twitter handle that the CS regrets if the alleged actions are true and has instructed KNH management to beef up security measures to protect patients and their relatives.

Meanwhile Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union (KMPDU) Secretary General Ouma Oluga, has called on speedy investigations into the matter.

Addressing the press after a meeting with the hospital’s management, Oluga at the same time asked those with evidence over the matter and those who broke the news through social media to report to police for proper action to be taken.
