The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC has cleared 8 candidates to contest for the Mathare parliamentary seat that is likely to renew political rivalry between CORD and Jubilee alliances.

Among those cleared include ODM’s Steve Kariuki who received a direct nomination by his party, George Wanjohi of TNA, Sammy Mudanya from the Progressive Party of Kenya, Billan Okoth of National Labor party, Maendeleo democratic candidate Fuamba NC Fuamba and three independent candidates, Barrack Obadi, Mariam Macharia, and Nixon Kanai.

Former youth fund chairman Gor Semelango, and Henry Shitanda were locked out of the nomination. Semalango has since appealed the decision before the IEBC dispute tribunal and his case will be heard Monday.
