Joyce Omondi launches new album – Spirit Vs Soul

Written By: Claire Wanja

Titled Spirit Vs Soul , this album was developed with one main goal - to draw people unto God in true and earnest worship

Right off the recent release of her newest single Lihimidi Jina Lake , Joyce Omondi has released her sophomore album Friday.

The guiding Scripture for this musical project is John 4:23-24, “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in him spirit and in truth.”

Titled Spirit Vs Soul , this album was developed with one main goal – to draw people unto God in true and earnest worship. Every song’s lyrics have been steeped in the Word of God and planted in Joyce’s heart through her daily devotions and personal walk with Christ. The music came alive in Dominic Khaemba’s studio at Ageless Music, alongside multi-talented musicians.

In the opening track Joyce shares a gem she’s picked on her life’s journey: “That music will always take you where it came from. That if it came from the soul that’s where it will take you, but if it came from the spirit that’s where it will take you. I pray that as you listen to this offering unto God that every word, beat and tone will bypass your soul & resonate with your spirit.”
