KDF twitter account hacked

Kenya Defence forces spokesman Emmanuel Chirchir is asking Kenyans to ignore messages from its twitter account in the wake of revelations that the account has been hacked.

The twitter account was allegedly hacked on Sunday night and Monday morning where abusive messages were sent.

“We are working hard to address the issue. Let the public be patient as experts work on it,” said Chirchir.

The hackers also defaced the website of the National Environment Trust Fund (Netfund).

The website was restored Monday morning.

The fact that KDF is involved in war in Somalia complicates matters because the hackers can use the account to send misleading information.
