Kenya has already placed a bid to host the 2017 World Youth Athletics Championship in Nairobi.

Athletics Kenya already forwarded the letter to IAAF together with USA and Argentina who are also contesting to host the championship.

Having fulfilled all the conditions as required by the World athletics governing body IAAF, Athletics Kenya, is confident of winning the bid to host the championship in Nairobi.

Kenya last played host to an international event when it hosted the 2010 Africa Senior Athletics Championship but before then, it had held the 2007 World Cross Country in Mombasa, and it’s on these credentials  that AK chairman Isaiah Kiplagat is banking on to be home to the 2017 world junior meet.

The final presentation of the bid will be done on 19th November in Monaco.
