Kenya women’s Volleyball loses 3-2 sets to Bulgaria

The National women’s volleyball team put up a spirited fight before losing in a five set thriller against Bulgaria in their second group ‘Q’ match of the ongoing World grand Prix in Mexico.
The David Lungaho charges went into the match heads high after winning their opening match against Mexico but narrowly lost the first set 25-20.
Led by Mercy Moim , Lydia Maiyo and Everlyne Makuto Kenya recovered to win the second set 25-23 before losing the third set 26-24.
A resilient Kenyan side recovered again to bag the fourth set 26-24 to send the match into the fifth set. However the African powerhouse lost the fifth set 15-12.
Mercy Moim was the top scorer for Kenya with 22 points while Dimitrova Nasya gave Bulgaria 21 points. Kenya will face archrivals Algeria in their third group match.
