Lenaola heads three-judge bench to hear Mining Bill case

A three-judge bench has been constituted to hear the constitutional issues raised in a petition seeking to stop the presentation of the Mining Bill to Parliament for allegedly breaching fundamental rights.

Justice Isaac Lenaola, who heads the Constitutional and Human Rights Division of the High Court, will preside over the bench consisting of Judges Mumbi Ngugi and George Odunga, according to directions issued by the Chief Justice last week.

The case was filed by the Kenya African Minerals Association and named the Cabinet Secretary for Mining and three others as respondents.
