Four people die in accident along Garissa- Wajir road

Four people died early Sunday morning when a bus they were traveling in rammed into a stationary lorry in Habaswen area along the Garissa-Wajir road.

Among the dead are the bus Conductor and an off duty Police Officer who was resuming work.

Wajir County Commissioner John Chelimo who confirmed the incident to KBC on phone said ten other passengers are admitted to Wajir referral hospital in critical condition, among them officers from the Kenya Defense Forces, Administration Police and Kenya Prisons.

Chelimo said the accident happened even as the night travel ban is still in force saying the bus driver could have been avoiding road blocks.

He however said investigations have been launched to establish why the bus went through all the road blocks from Nairobi to Wajir without being noticed.
