Jubilee party launched to fanfare, President and DP endorsed as party leaders

After months of planning and organization, the new Jubilee Party has officially been sanctioned.

Delegates drawn from jubilee affiliate parties unanimously adopted resolutions to dissolve their outfits in favour of the new party.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto were endorsed as party leader and deputy party leaders respectively.

Presiding over the event, Deputy President William Ruto maintains that Jubilee Party remains the only option to lead the country to a new era of social, political and economic dispensation.

A euphoric Jubilee leadership in attendance further expressed confidence the ruling coalition will secure re-election through a resounding win next year.

A day after they held separate conventions to dissolve their respective political parties in readiness for the unveiling of the Jubilee party, delegates from the 11 parties converged at Kasarani today to ratify the merger.

The elaborate event also presented an opportunity for top echelons at Jubilee to unveil leaders from the opposition ranks who have since defected to the ruling coalition, including Governors Kachapin, Mvurya and Timamy.

The grand merger could not end without a message to opposition rivals especially in regards to 2017 polls.

Saturday is the climax of the three day  meeting. President Uhuru Kenyatta will officially launch the Jubilee Party and unveil interim officials.
