National Super Alliance head of policy David Ndii is being held at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations after he was arrested while on holiday.

Ndii was picked up by detectives at the Leopard beach hotel in Kwale County where he was said to be on holiday with his family.

And while the detectives said he would be taken to Diani police station, the NASA strategist was instead driven to Nairobi overnight as in now being questioned.

Details on the reason of his arrest remain scanty but unconfirmed reports indicate he is being questioned over his recent statements among them the claim that the opposition is ready to pay the ultimate price in its quest for electoral justice.

NASA recently appointed Ndii to head the committee that will steer the people’s assembly agenda an exercise the Government claim is illegal.

Siaya Senator James Orengo, NASA CEO Norman Magaya as well as politician Edwin Sifuna are already at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations seeking to know the grounds for his arrest.

According to the wife Mwende Ndii, the officers who were seven in number approached Ndii and asked is they could have a word with him.

She says they had guns and the one in charge said to Ndii “now we have to go.”

I asked him who he was and he showed me his work ID, and told me they were taking him to Diani police station.

We took a taxi and went there but found that he had not been taken to that police station.

She says the police later went to search their hotel room without a search warrant, and at some point asked her for computers and she told them they had left them in Nairobi.

The officers threatened to lock me up until Winnie Odinga arrived at the police station and we were asked to proceed back to the hotel until further notice.

Mwende says she came back to the Country through a personal request by President Uhuru Kenyatta to create a database on Kenyans, after the westgate attack.
