CRA Chair Micah Cheserem urged MCAs and governors to minimize foreign tours

Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) says Members of county assemblies across the country have misappropriated huge amounts of money on foreign trips in the last one year since inception of the county governments.

Speaking during the launch of Model County Revenue Legislation book for the county governments, CRA Chairman Micah Cheserem cautioned the MCAs and the governors to minimize the foreign tours and instead steer development projects in their respective counties.

Cheserem urged the MCAs to replicate what they have learnt abroad to their counties.

The launched module revenue legislation was aimed at guiding the county governments on revenue allocation and set government procedures to spend the collected revenue that has been violated in some counties.

Cheresem further said some county governments, in North Eastern have been able to collect sustainable revenue while others in Western Kenya are yet to achieve the same.
