MP Kabando’s brother in court over mother’s murder

The 70 year-old woman is reported to have been hacked to death shortly after 2 pm on Sunday

Mukurweini Member of Parliament Kabando wa Kabando’s younger brother was Monday arraigned before Mukurweini Senior Principal Magistrate, a day after he was arrested in connection with the murder of his mother.

However, 40 year old Ceaser Thiari did not plead to any charges as the prosecution asked for more time to complete their investigations.

The magistrate gave them one week to complete recording their witness statements as well as conduct a postmortem on the body of the deceased.

In the meantime the Magistrate directed that the accused be remanded at Mukurweini police station and also be taken for a psychiatric examination.

The case comes for mention on 4th August at the Nyeri High Court.

On Sunday shock and grief hit Ngamwa village of Mukurweini following the gruesome murder of Kabando wa Kabando’s mother Ruth Wacera.

The 70 year-old woman is reported to have been murdered shortly after 2 pm Sunday.
