President Uhuru Kenyatta eulogizes Geoffrey Muthuri

President Uhuru Kenyatta has eulogized Geoffrey Muthuri as a celebrated and distinguished personality in Kenya.

The President said the late Muthuri who at one time served as the Principal of Meru School moulded some Kenyans to becoming prominent and distinguished citizens of this country.

Mr. Muthuri is also father in-law to Maara Member of Parliament, Japhet Kareke Mbiuki.

“As a pioneer educationist and farmer from Meru County, the Late Mr. Muthuri left an indelible positive mark on all those who were fortunate to know him,” said President Kenyatta.

Adding, “During his long career as an educationalist, Mr Muthuri was awarded honours and accolades for his distinguished service to the public.”

The President pointed out that upon retirement, Mr. Muthuri continued to work hard putting into practise the modern methods of agriculture by venturing into tea farming.

“After retirement, he took his track record of excellence into the field of tea farming; and unsurprisingly he assumed leadership in the sector,”.

At the time of his death Mr. Muthuri was the Director KTDA – Lower Uruku Tea Zone and was elected Chairman of the Imenti Tea Factory.

The President prayed to God to give his family, relatives and friends fortitude at this difficult moment.
