Ruto orders search for Lamu, Tana River attacks suspects
Deputy President William Ruto has ordered security chiefs in Tana River and Lamu counties to begin manhunt for the suspects and bring them to book whether dead or alive following deadly attacks that have led to the deaths of over 20 people.
The Deputy President directed Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo, County commanders, County commissioners, OCPDs and all security agents to deal with the gang conclusively in order to end the brutal attacks of innocent people.
The DP spoke in Gamba Tana River County after touring Gamba police station which was attacked last night and left nine people including a police sergeant, inmates and semitrailer occupants.
He was earlier scheduled to hold a meeting in Mpeketoni which experienced similar attacks but went to Gamba and later left for Hindi following the fresh attacks.
He said the government would not continue to watch the gang executing innocent people in a manner meant to destabilize the government.
The Deputy President also said both the gang and their political collaborators shall face the full force of the law.
