National Sevens side Shujaa got Day 2 of the Safari 7s off in impressive fashion, qualifying for the Main Cup quarter finals set for Sunday, after seeing off Namibia 33-12 at the RFUEA grounds.
Shujaa were in form fine, thrashing Kenyan side Mwamba 53-0 in their first pool A match, before putting on another dominant performance to beat Apache 40.
In the final pool match, the defending champions, under the tutelage of new coach Paul Murunga, saw off Namibia 33-12 in their final Pool A match, qualifying for the quarter finals set for tomorrow.
Last year’s finalists Samurai, also began their campaign on a positive note, seeing off Red Wailers 27-5 in their first Pool B match, followed by a 50-7 win over Emerging Uganda.
The Nick Wakely coached side then completed their group matches with a narrow 19-14 win over Spain.
In the ladies competition, the Kenya Lionesses beat Emerging Cranes 50-0 in their first match, before a 27-0 win over Uganda Lady Cranes, which was followed by a 50-0 win over Kenya Club select.
