Parliamentary Education Committee chair person Sabina Chege has called upon all school heads to honor the directive to release KCPE and KCSE certificates belonging to needy students.

Sabina said it is the right of students to have their certificates saying according to the Kenya National Examinations Council ACT, the contract is between Kenya National Examination Council and the candidate and therefore schools should not hold the document.

Speaking at Kambara primary school in Mathioya constituency, the MP also noted the directive was first issued years back by the former education Permanent Secretary Karega Mutahi and urged teachers not to be hypocritical about the issue.

She asked school heads to heed to the government’s directive to release the certificates which she says will secure the future of many young people from poor backgrounds.
