Football defending Champions Ministry of Sports(MOSCA) together with Kenya Ports Authority, Posta corporation and Kenya Maritime booked
a place in the semifinals of the on-going KECOSO games in Nakuru after registering good results in their group matches.
The Ministry of Sports team popularly known as MOSCA enhanced their chances of retaining their title they won last year after posting good results in their group matches.
Though they were held to a barren draw by Kenya Aviation Authority in their first match Mosca beat Kenya Maritime authority in their second match to qualify for the semis in group ‘A’.
The team will face premier league side Posta rangers in the semis on Wednesday.
The second semi final match pits Kenya Maritime Authority against another premier league side Bandari.
Meanwhile the KBC Scrabble team thrashed Kenya Airports Authority 8-0 in their second match and now they are looking forward to booking a place in the semi finals.
KBC will face MOSCA in their final group match Wednesday while KMA play CA.
In Netball Kenya Civil Aviation defeated Kenya Ferry 65-16 while Kenya Martime Authority were beaten 40-33 by Kenya Airports Authority.
In pool the KBC team fought hard but finally went down 15-10 to Kenya Ports Authority team in a tough match played at the Menengai social hall.
Despite the loss the team has book a place in semis set to be played on Thursday.
Elsewhere,National Paralympics committee has today confirmed that 19 paralympians and 12 coaches will travel to Rio Brazil to represent Kenya in the Paralympic games slated for September 7th to 19th.
The first batch of the paralympians will leave the country on 25th of this month while the second batch leaves on 1st of September.UPS Among the 19, two are looking to break their own world records set in previous Paralympic Games.
Samuel Muchai, who set a world record of 3:58.07 in the 1,500m-T11 race at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London is in the team alongside Henry Kirwa,a world record holder in both 10,000m-T12 In field events, Sylvia Olero will represent Kenya in F44 discus throw while James Mangerere will compete in F57 javelin throw.
