Hola town and its environs are facing an acute shortage of fuel having gone without fuel for the last one week.
The situation has forced all Government vehicles using petrol to be grounded making and halting government services.
A spot check by Kenya News Agency established that about 20 government vehicles using super petrol are at the parking yards awaiting fuel.
Hola District Medical Officer of health Dr Buwa Kahindi said, he has two standby vehicles using diesel to attend to emergency cases only.
A filling station attendant interviewed by KNA alleged the Petroleum Agents at Mombasa depot and Suppliers had caused the shortage. The attendant however could not confirm when the super petrol would be available.
A number of government operations have been grounded especially those using generators connected machines like fax and computers.
