Calls for peace and reconciliation intensified Wednesday following the killing of some 50 people in Eldoret on Tuesday.
The business community on Wednesday added its voice, calling for a truce among warring groups.
Under the Kenya Federation of Employers' Patrick Obath, the business leaders say business cannot thrive in an insecure environment.
They said the current tension will negatively impact on not only business but government revenue as well.
They say they have been trying to reach out to the government and the opposition, to no avail.
Fuel shortage has not been witnessed yet in the city, but the unrest in Kenya has affected business in neighboring Uganda.
