Nyanza Provincial Commissioner -PC- Paul Olando has justified the use of force to quell post election riots in Kisumu saying the town had to be saved from total collapse.
Speaking after meeting a group of legislators on a fact finding mission of what went wrong in the town, Olando said the police exercised maximum restrain saying acts of a few errand officers should not be used to taint the image of the entire force.
Olando says the police only moved to contain the situation.
And addressing wananchi at Kondele in the outskirts of the town, the MPs urged wananchi to stop destruction of property and act with decorum during demonstrations saying there will be no more bullets.
They pleaded with the locals to wait for the outcome of the Koffi Annan led mediation talks saying in the end justice and peace would reign.
