Portsmouth striker Nwankwo Kanu says he has finally agreed a new deal with the English Premier League side.
The 31-year-old, whose current contract expired at the end of last season, will sign for a further 12 months.
Kanu, who is currently with Portsmouth on a pre-season tour to South Africa, also has an option of an extra year if he plays a certain number of games.
"I can't wait to complete all the signing formality when we get back to England," he told BBC Sport.
The striker also said that he rejected offers from MLS sides in America.
But the financial rewards on offers were not tempting enough for the former Arsenal man to uproot his young family from England.
"I played a game [last Saturday] in Portsmouth colours because I am still a player of the club and the deal is finally sealed.
"I know the club has its own contract policy but we just had to sort out some other things in the contract.
"But with what we did together last season I still think there's a lot more to come.
"I have repeatedly say it that I love to play for the club, I enjoy my relationship with the manager."
And Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp seems keen to keep Kanu at the club.
"He hasn't got a bigger fan in the world than me," he said.
"I took him knowing he's been a fantastic footballer he's been all his life.
"But like everybody he's not getting any younger so every year he signs a one year deal, if he plays a number of game and he gets another year, he will probably still be here when am long gone.
"I am sure the deal will be finally sorted.
"I have said it that I want to keep him at Portsmouth as long as I'm there, I love him and believe he's a fantastic man and a great footballer."
