With the arrival of the fibre optic cable in Kenya the ICT market player access Kenya is bracing for a vibrant market and is planning to expand its services to other parts of the country.
Access Kenya group Managing Director Jonathan Somen said all clients will be enjoying double speed on internet connections by July this year.
The East African Marine Systems -TEAMS cable was launched in Mombasa Last week.
The company owns 1.25 percent in the teams cable and the market expansion is set to increase its profits significantly this year.
In 2007 the Access Kenya became the 1st ICT Company to be listed at the NSE.
This year the company recorded 211 million shillings in pre tax profit up from 127 million last year.
