Pesa Point, Kenya's premier independent ATM Network Tuesday launched a new service that will enable customers make bill payments using its ATMs countrywide.
Speaking during the launch, Pesa point CEO Bernard Matthewman said the service will make bill payment more convenient and accessible for customers.
Matthewman said some of the organizations that have signed up for the service are Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), AAR and Wananchi Online.
Matthewman said that as a third party network in Kenya with over 110 sites, Pesa Point currently acquires funds for 33 financial institutions and offers visa and master card services.
He added that Pesa Point will make the new service available to other ATM acquiring networks that wish to offer bill payment services and will shortly roll out the service to its agents based on point of service network.
"Through this, Kenyan businesses can build customer loyalty, a more consistent revenue stream and higher visibility as it allows customers to conveniently pay whenever, wherever at Pesa Point ATMs nation-wide," he said.
"ATM usage is all about convenience and Pesa Point is in pursuit of offering value-added services to its users, not only for cash access but for other possible ATM services among them being bill payments, buying airtime, drawing cash as well as other M-PESA transactions," he added.
Matthewman said Pesa Point will continue expanding its locations not only in urban areas, but also to other parts of the country to benefit more Kenyans through the service.
