Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has assured the Kenya Scouts Association (KSA) of the government's support as it prepares to host the 13th World Scouts Moot set for July next year.
Mr. Musyoka aid all the relevant arms of the government will play their rightful role to ensure the global event which is being hosted in the Africa for first time is a success.
Speaking at the Kenya Scouts Association's Rowallan camp, park, Nairobi where he addressed a youth conference and a contingent team from various parts of the world who are in the country to assess the preparations, Mr. Musyoka expressed satisfaction with the phase of the preparations.
He lauded the scouting movement terming it a revolutionary movement that was instrumental in inculcating holistic values in the youth.
The Vice President noted that through the scouting, many problems that bedevil society such as destruction of the environment, drugs abuse, and immorality could be addressed.
"Through scouting the youth are taught to be self-reliant, respectful and inculcated in them servant-leadership values.
Mr. Musyoka who is also the Chief Commissioner of scouts in the country called on the movement to recruit more youths as a way of promoting holistic individuals in the country.
The Vice President was accompanied by the 13 the world Scouts Moot Director Mr. Gathogo Ngugi and the National Executive Commissioner of KSA, Mr. Alfred Miriti.
