Several schools in Naivasha have been closed down following heavy rains pounding the town for the third day running leaving a trail of destruction.
The most affected area was South Lake where several herds of cattle were washed away while tens of others were marooned by the elnino rains.
A minor was rescued by members of the public after he slipped and fell into the murky waters.
There were fears of outbreak of waterborne diseases after toilets and houses were submerged in flood waters.
Motorists along the Moi South Lake were not spared either while tens of green houses were flooded by the afternoon down pour.
Flower farmers in the area called on the Naivasha municipal council to work on the drainage system to avert any more damages.
Last month, the Kenya Metrological Department reported that Kenyans should brace for El Nino type of rainfall, although not as severe as the one that occurred ten years ago. The department last week warned of heavy rains at the start of this month.
Several people have died in different parts of the country as a result of the floods.
The latest deaths have been reported in Tigania West district where two pupils drowned at Muili village.
The boys who were identified as Phineas Kareithi, 8, and John Kirimi, 4, were swept away by raging waters from Nyambene hills on their way home from grazing cattle.
Villagers said the Sunday afternoon downpour lasting less than 30 minutes in the higher areas of the district flooding low lands in the grazing areas.
Police retrieved the two bodies and removed them to Meru District hospital mortuary.
The torrential rains have left thousands of families displaced in various parts of the country.
