Civil societies now want the government to dismantle the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC), saying Kenyans have no confidence in the Commission headed by Ambassador Bethwel Kiplagat.
They say Kiplagat has been adversely mentioned in cases of human rights abuse as well as the Ndung'u report which links him to a 0.34 hectares of land in Lavington.
A group of NGO's also produced documents alleging he irregularly benefited from some land in Trans Nzoia under the former regime.
They made the remarks days after TJRC hearings at the Coast were left in disarray with participants storming out of the meetings on grounds that they had no confidence in the TJRC boss.
However, Kiplagat maintains he can deliver since he has played a major role in brokering peace in Somalia, Sudan, Rwanda, Uganda and other countries for many years.
