President Mwai Kibaki has sent a message of condolence to the family, relatives and friends of former Labour Minister Dr. Newton Kulundu who died early today at the Nairobi Hospital.
President Kibaki described the late Dr. Kulundu as a patriotic servant of the people and development-conscious leader who served the country with dedication in various capacities.
The President noted that as a politician and a Cabinet Minister, the late Kulundu distinguished himself as a man of courage who never allowed empty criticism divert him from his objectives.
"We are proud of his contribution to our country and thank God for the time we shared with him. As we mourn his departed soul, let us also celebrate his life, his achievements and his dedication to our country," President Kibaki said.
The Head of State prayed to God to give the late Dr. Kulundu's family, relatives and friends the strength and courage to bear the loss.
