Prime Minister Raila Odinga has commended the Japanese government for its support on climate change and mitigation and for the support of development of renewable energy in the country.
During a dinner hosted to honor the visiting Japanese crown prince Naruhito, the premier revealed that the Japanese government had pledged a soft loan of 29 billion yens towards the development of geothermal power and a further 5 billion yens for climate change mitigation and adaptation.
The premier further reaffirmed the govt's commitment to forge even closer partnership with Japan for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
The Japan crown prince jetted in the country on Thursday evening for a three-day visit.
