Two bodies retrieved from a borehole in Embu
Combined operations by the Police, Fire Brigade and St John Ambulance to retrieve the bodies from the waterhole lasted for almost six hours.
Volumes of water had to be pumped out of the borehole to reach the bodies that were completely immersed in water.
Bodies of the two identified as Peter Nyaga and David Ndwiga have been taken to a Kieni Mission Hospital Mortuary.
The tragedy occurred when a man accidentally slipped into the borehole and his nephew also drowned while trying to rescue him.
Efforts to retrieve their bodies on Monday were called off due to darkness and their bodies were also completely immersed in water.
