Aspirants in the forthcoming FKF branch elections scheduled for Saturday 19 September 2020, have intensified their campaigns countrywide.
The elections are expected to take place in 17 out of 48 branches since in the other 31 branches, candidates are unopposed.
Majority of the candidates have requested the Sports Disputes Tribunal board, to hasten the pending football disputes before it.
“Our prayer to SDT is, for them to strike out the many court cases and, let the people vote and decide so that we can grow our football.” George Onyango, an aspirant for the Nairobi East, chairmanship said.
His Laikipia West FKF chairmanship aspirant echoed his sentiments saying, “the frequent football disputes in courts is holding back talent development in the country. We call for an end for it and, we are ready for the forthcoming elections.”
This comes against the recent zoom meeting by FKF electoral board with the aspirants, on how to conduct the upcoming elections.
FKF branch elections are set for this weekend where 94 delegates will be eligible to take part in the national elections.
This will be the third time the FKF electoral board will be conducting the elections after the John Ohaga led body, had nullified the earlier held elections in November 23rd 2019, and cancelled the nationwide exercise.
