17 dead, 43 injured in Narok bus accident

17 people are feared dead and 43 injured after a bus heading to Nairobi from Kendu Bay plunged into a river at Siyampei Bridge some five kilometers from Narok town.

Confirming the accident Narok County commissioner George Natembea said  the bus plunged into the river after a head on collision with a truck from a Chinese construction company.

The driver of the truck who disappeared after the accident is being pursued by police.

The Daima connections Sacco bus was travelling from Kendu bay in south Nyanza to Nairobi.

Among the dead was the bus driver.

The passengers who survived the tragic accident were rushed to  Narok referral hospital four of them in critical condition.
