The Kenya tennis team which will take part in the forthcoming Africa group III tennis tournament slated for August 11th-14th in Cairo Egypt is exuding confidence of registering impressive result at the tourney.
The team made up of Ismael Changawa, Kevin Cheruiyot, Albert Njogu and Ibrahim Kibet as well as reserve player Derrick Ominde will battle for the two tickets available for promotion to 2022 World Group II.
The group III championship has attracted hosts Egypt, Kenya, Algeria, Benin, Ghana, Mozambique and Rwanda.
The Francis Rogoi coached side will learn of their preliminary opponents Tuesday when the draw will be conducted.
The seven countries will be drawn into two groups. One group will have four teams and the other group three teams.
Nations finishing in the top two of each group will compete in playoff for promotion, with the winner of Group “A” facing the runner-up of Group “B”, and the winner of Group “B” meeting the runner-up of Group “A”.
