1st round of KCB Nakuru Rally underway

The 1st round of this year’s KCB Nakuru Rally is currently underway at the KCB Mogotio Branch in Nakuru County.

20 drivers were flagged off by KCB Bank Regional Business Manager Great Rift Ms. Victoria Kamuren and Mogotio Area MP Daniel Tuitoek on Saturday Morning.

Defending champion Carl ‘Flash’ Tundo, Ian Duncan and Baldev Chager will be the star attractions in the event which was flagged off at the KCB Mogotio Branch at 7 am.

The race ends at the Rift valley Motors Sports Club House in Solai.

The event has attracted seven cars in the premier class and a similar number in KNRC Division 1.

Tejveer Rai will be off the ramp first followed by Eric Bengi, Ian Duncan, Carl Flash Tundo and defending back-back Nakuru champion Onkar Rai and Baldev Chager taking off sixth.

Eric Bengi co-driven by Tuta Mionki in a Mistubishi Evolution X said, “We really want to take it easy and finish the event. We need to get used to the new car and learn it well. Later in the season, our target is to hit a few podium places and record better career finishes than 4th last year.”

Drivers will tackle four stages which will be repeated twice with the longest stage being 30.74 Ankole stage and the shortest is the flat-out Sprint stage which totals 6.16Km.
