2017 Sportpesa Premier League Awards ceremony postponed

Due to the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) senior challenge Cup set to kick off this Sunday at the Machakos County stadium, the 2017 Sportpesa Premier League Awards ceremony has been postponed to January, next year.

Footballers who were exemplary in the 2017 Sportpesa Premier League season that saw Gor Mahia win the top flight title will have to wait longer as the long wait continues on who will be the most valuable player in the country this year.

With the shortlist yet to be released by the Kenya Premier League Limited, players will be rewarded in various categories including the golden boot for the player who has scored most goals, the player of the year, young player of the year, coach of the year and team of the year among other categories.

Midfielder Kenneth Muguna won the 2016 player of the year award after beating Eric Ouma, Humphrey Mieno, David Okello and John Makwatta to the award.
