25 chief officers grilled in Wajir

Claims of favoritism characterized a session to vet 25 chief officers nominated to hold various dockets at the Wajir County government.

AN Ad hoc Committee on appointments is expected to finalize the exercise later today.

As other Kenyans get ready to celebrate the weeklong climax of this year’s festive season, it is work as usual for the Wajir County Assembly.

On-going is the vetting of 25 chief officers nominated for various posts within the county executive, an exercise the committee hopes to complete before Christmas.

This process however comes amid some disquiet over inclusivity, with some residents calling for effective public participation in the exercise.

All notwithstanding the committee hopes to present its report before a special sitting of the Assembly later this week to expedite service delivery in the county.
