28 drivers to participate in champagne 4×4 rally challenge

Twenty eight drivers have registered for the third edition of champagne four by four rally challenge that was officially unveiled Tuesday in Nairobi.

The championship will be held this weekend at Kipeto area, Kajiado County.

Eight drivers will compete in the beginner’s category including Dennis Mbaabu who emerged victorious in the previous edition with 25 points.

Mbaabu will be up against Ashok Rabadin, James Gitau and John Kuria among others.

Akash Segan is optimistic of winning the rally after finishing second in the previous edition.

John Kanyari the defending champion in the experts category will be seeking to defend his title when he lines up against Pritam Roopra and Dipak Kerai among other drivers.

The other category that drivers will compete in is the intermediate that has among others Steve Waiyaki, Joe Mwaura and Ramesh Halai.

Competitions will start at Kipeto area where drivers will compete in eight different stages totaling to 25km.

Winners will receive cash awards.
