3 people die in Kisii lorry accident

Three people died while several others were injured after a track lost control and rammed into passersby near Kisii town.

The driver of the lorry, which was transporting  sand lost control and hit several motor cycles and pedestrians killing 3 and injuring at least 8.

The accident that occurred at a major intersection saw the lorry lose control and ram into stationary motor cycles and pedestrians before landing on the railing of the Nyambera bridge.

The deathtoll and casualty count was confirmed by Dr. Fred Kiriga, a medical officer in charge of emergency services at Kisii hospital.

In Kilifi, a 39 year old fisherman drowned in the Indian ocean after a fishing expedition went awry at Mayungu area near Malindi town.

Bidii Katana Shombo, a renowned diver, had reportedly gone fishing alone in the morning in the deep sea when tragedy struck.

It is alleged that there was no one near to rescue him when his boat capsized.
