Ugandan court orders WizKid’s arrest

A court in the Ugandan capital Kampala has issued an arrest order to Ugandan police and Interpol against Nigerian pop star Wizkid.

The court order demands that the Nigerian artiste, real name Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun and his manager Sunday ‘Sunny’ Arey be arrested within one month.

Magistrate Moses Baligeya asked for his arrest over the charge of obtaining money by false pretense and conspiracy to defraud emanating from an incident in which Wizkid is said to have failed to honour an agreement with a Ugandan client to perform in Kampala on December 3rd at the Lugogo cricket oval.

WizKid is said to have received 6.1 million shillings for the performance and extra costs incurred by the organisers to the tune of 30.7 million for among other costs, publicity and logistics for only for the star to miss the show.

The concert failed to take place, with upto 25,000 tickets sold-according to the organisers.
